Phil B. Curls Manor is the first phase of the Kansas City Intergenerational Community. The 4-story building provides 54 affordable apartments for seniors and amenities that include a theater, community room, fitness, bike storage, in-unit laundry, and medical exam room. The building is named after longtime Kansas City lawmaker Phil B. Curls who was instrumental in the passage of bills relating to economic development, housing, child and family services, health care, and education. He dedicated his time to increasing education opportunities for disadvantaged youth and expanding the representation of the Kansas City African American community in elective offices.
